On Behalf of | Nov 21, 2021 | Personal Injury |

There are more licensed drivers than ever in the state of Maryland, so roadways across the state are constantly bustling with traffic. Traveling on overcrowded roadways is not only very challenging — it can also be incredibly dangerous. The actions of other drivers are completely unpredictable. Unfortunately, traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of personal injury and death in Maryland.

Accident details

Recently, a motor vehicle accident in Kensington claimed the life of a woman and injured two other motorists. The crash happened during the afternoon hours at the intersection of Franklin Street and Connecticut Avenue. According to reports, an SUV was traveling on Franklin Street and was crossing Connecticut Avenue at the intersection when the SUV was suddenly struck by a pickup truck headed north on Connecticut Avenue.

Tragedy

Reportedly, the collision caused the SUV to roll over, trapping the driver and a passenger inside. Authorities said both occupants were extricated and rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries. Tragically, the passenger in the SUV died the next day at the hospital, reports said. The driver of the pickup truck was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to reports.

It can be very traumatic when the life of a loved one is suddenly lost at the hands of a negligent driver. Fortunately, immediate family members reserve the right to contact an experienced litigator and pursue rightful damages through a wrongful death claim. Compensation from a successful lawsuit could help families pay end-of-life expenses and recoup other financial losses that may have occurred due to this unfortunate situation.
