Details of a recent fatal crash
Maryland State Police are currently investigating a recent two-vehicle accident in Frederick County that killed one driver and seriously injured another. The crash happened at night on U.S. Route 40 at the intersection with Harmony Road. According to reports, a sedan was headed north on Harmony Road and the driver attempted to cross U.S. Route 40. At the same time, a pickup truck was approaching from the east on U.S. Route 40 nearing the Harmony Road intersection.
Apparently, the sedan pulled into the path of the pickup truck, causing a collision. Authorities said the driver of the pickup suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the driver of the sedan was killed in the crash, reports said. Reportedly, the roadway was closed for three hours following the accident.
